Chart #1 - Singapore’s Prime Minister earns a huge $1.61m a year, miles ahead of the next highest salary. The reasoning behind top government salaries in Singapore is said to be to discourage corruption and attract top talent.
Chart #2 - Globally, the average number of children a woman will have is 2.32, compared to 4.86 in 1950. Countries such as South Korea face an uncertain future due to the extremely low birth rates they are experiencing, where there are less than 1 births per woman.
