3 new charts - the World Wide Web
Did you know that every 60 seconds on Earth...a minute passes
Ah, the Internet - where you can watch a tv show about cake, order some cake ingredients through a delivery site, find a recipe to bake a cake, and then post a picture of your cake. Here are some charts about the Internet (no cake, sorry)!
Chart #1 - There’s a massive amount of data that gets transferred across the Internet every minute. Try to imagine - 8 billion people in the world, how many are currently watching a series on Netflix? Or sending a Snapchat? Well, a lot.
Chart #2 - What’s your favourite website? Wonder if it’s anyone else’s favourite? Here is the most popular website per country (and we’re excluding search engines, illegal sites, Facebook and Youtube).
Today’s Genuinely Impactful startups operate sustainably while delivering a great service that has made my life a lot easier. I hope they can for yours too!
Pact Coffee - I love coffee. I love it even more when the coffee is sourced directly from farmers who are paid well above Fairtrade base price, processed with sustainable methods and a flexible subscription with 100+ types of coffee to choose from.
Packfleet - A same-day delivery service with fully electric vans and a unique routing algorithm that puts drivers on the most efficient route possible. If you’re like me, you start looking for the delivery van as soon as you click ‘order’ - and now you might just see it turn up in 10 minutes!
Chart #3 - If you had to download the entirety of Wikipedia (about 30GB) using an Icelandic ISP, it would take on average 1,108 seconds, or 18.5 minutes. Surprisingly, the top 10 countries with the fastest average speed are majority European (6), with 3 Asian countries and only one North American country.
See you in 2023 with charts on funds and ETFs!
