Aviation Crashes by phase of flight
Landing and takeoff are clearly the most dangerous phases of the entire flight which is unsurprising due to a combination of factors. These phases occur at relatively low altitudes which gives the pilot less scope and time to recover from errors or malfunctions. Also, at these times the pilot requires intense concentration and coordination due to having to complete multiple tasks. Therefore, this leaves more room for human error too.
