More than half of all households in the UK and US have pets, so of course we had to do a newsletter on our furry friends. How creative were you with naming your pets? Would you shell out $1M+ for a puppy? And how is Zoetis, the world’s largest animal medicine company, performing?
Most popular pet names
It seems that Bella and Luna are incredibly popular names for both cats and dogs. Bella means beautiful in Italian, however many attribute its popularity to Bella Swan- the main character in Twilight. The same theory could be applied to Luna who is a popular character in the Harry Potter series. Furthermore, many dog trainers encourage owners to choose names with two syllables as these are easy for dogs to learn.
Most expensive dog breeds
Many people will shell out a lot of money for their perfect dog, but would you be willing to spend over a million dollars? Tibetan mastiffs have reportedly been sold for $1.5M to $2M! They have become increasingly popular amongst the Chinese elite and a single breeding session with a top stud can cost as much as $40,000.
While these dogs are very expensive to buy, the costs don’t stop there with food, insurance policies, medical bills etc. to also think about.
That’s why we have found some great deals for you dog owners. For example, this 10 piece set of toys for your dog that are not only great fun, but also help keep your dog’s teeth clean!*

Their revenue of $8.1B in FY22 is a 4% increase from last year. Not only that, but their net income ($2.1B) and EPS ($4.49) also rose by 4% and 5%, respectively. Their CEO, Kristin Peck, appeared happy with the results and optimistic about the future, mentioning that they are “guiding to full year operational growth of 6% to 8% in revenue in 2023.”
